There’s certainly no shortage of alleged satanic activity and satanic sites around the world. There’s reports of satanic activity happening in everything from nightclubs and old abandoned ruins, to fully organized satanic centers.
The belief in and worship of the fallen angel Lucifer shows no signs of waning. Despite the controversial nature of the dark religion and the evil acts its rituals demand followers perform, many still enthusiastically pledge their allegiance to Satan – or so the rumors would have you believe.
Cynical after decades of wrongful accusations and a disturbing willingness to find evil in even the most innocent places, today most people roll their eyes at the mere mention of devil worship or Satanic places.
If the greatest trick of the devil is to convince you that he doesn’t exist, the overreactions of the past have certainly paved his way. When faced with ritualistic murders in places with connections to Satanism, the first instinct is often to try to deny any involvement with organized devil worship.
After all, no one wants a repeat of the Satanic panic wave that swept through the 1980s, so it’s best to insist that Satanic hotspots don’t exist. But they do exist, don’t they?
Whether home to black magic rituals, connected to demonic possession, or the site of ritual murders, collected here are some of the most Satanic cities and sites across the world.
One of the Largest Satanic Communities in all of Europe Resides in Turin, Italy.
Satanic activity radiates throughout Turin. According to Archbishop Anastasio Ballestrero, the devil lives here, and in the 1980s, the Catholic Church brought in six new exorcists just to balance the scales and combat the evil energy thriving in the city.
Some say the entrance to the Underworld is in the Piazza Statuto, which is allegedly one of three vertices forming a Black Magic triangle (London and San Francisco are the other two points). It also forms a White Magic triangle, with the other points being in Lyon and Prague.
Occult and Masonic symbols; inverted pentagrams and winged devils are all throughout Turin. Even around significant landmarks like the Piazza Statuto, the Via Vittorio Alfieri, and the Piazza del Palazzo. Locals say the wealthy elite meet with demons beneath the city. They perform Satanic rituals to gain and retain power.
Bolsover, England Chased the Devil Out, But His Followers Remain
Bolsover is considered the most Satanic city in England. In 2011, seventeen of the 76,000 residents claimed Satanism as their religion on a census. While the number is small, Bolsover has more Satanists per capita than anywhere else in the nation, so it’s now the chief city in England’s “Satanic heartland.”
Hilariously enough, the Church of Satan actually denied the census. They called it a joke and initially insisted no Satanists lived in Bolsover. According to Priestess Serena Malone of the Church of Satan, “We tend to think someone is playing a prank here. While we have many members throughout the UK, that area does not have any exceptional concentration of our adherents.”
According to local legend, the devil paid a visit to Bolsover. He demanded his hooves be shod in sturdiest Derbyshire iron. The blacksmith drove a nail deep in the devil’s hoof while fitting him for the shoe, and the Devil took off, furiously kicking along the way. His frantic kick is what caused the famous crooked spire at the Chesterfield Parish Church.
The Infamous Amityville House is Allegedly Infested With Demons
The infamous house of horrors in Amityville, New York, has had books and films aplenty spreading its tales of demonic possession and murder since 1977. Regardless of whether the tales of ghosts are real, the fact remains that Ronald “Butch” DeFeo Jr. slaughtered six members of his own family in that house on November 13, 1974. He claimed to have been hearing demonic voices for some time and said the devil made him commit the murders.
DeFeo wasn’t the only killer drawn to the house. Ricky Kasso, leader of the Satanic cult known as the Knights of the Black Circle, performed rituals in the house while it was vacant. Then, in 1984, he brutally murdered his friend Gary Lauwers as a sacrifice to Satan.
Ominous Candles Count Those Who Pass the Hell House of Massapequa
A house of devil worship in a North Massapequa, New York, the neighborhood has been the source of gossip and local lore for years. The looming, brick mammoth of a Victorian is complete with iron gates and a black hearse parked out front. A black sidewalk led up to it until they painted it the same “bleeding’ maroon as the house.
According to locals the velvet dressed windows always have candles. Somehow, the number of candles would always correspond to the number of people in the cars that pass by. If you drive by the house alone, you’ll see one candle lit. If you came back around after picking up some friends there will be additional candles in the window, one for each passenger in the car.
Bobby Mackey’s Nightclub Sits on Kentucky’s Very Own Portal to Hell
Bobby Mackey’s allegedly sits on top of a portal to Hell, making it a favorite in the paranormal investigation community. Dubbed the “most haunted nightclub in America,” it’s been featured on Ghost Adventures, Ghost Hunters, and other hit paranormal shows.
Bobby Mackey’s originally served as a slaughterhouse in the 1950s. The bloody pit in the basement was used for rituals by local occultists and Satanists after its closure in the 1890s.
Witnesses claim to have seen the headless ghost of Pearl Bryan at Bobby Mackey’s. Pearl was only 22-years old when she got pregnant. The father was local dark occultist Scott Jackson. He and his friend Alonzo Walling thought they could perform an abortion on her themselves but they botched it. She didn’t make it. They decided to dismembered her and use her head in a Satanic ritual in the basement Hell portal.
Johanna was a dance hall girl that performed at Bobby Mackey’s (back when it was called the Latin Quarter). She fell in love with a singer named Robert Randall and became pregnant with his child. When her father found out, he had Randall killed. Johanna was so heartbroken that she poisoned her father and then took her own life in the basement dressing room. Now her spirit joins Pearl’s.
Residual Energy From Satanic Rituals Continue to Haunt St. James, New York
After the loss of her husband Curtis, Jeanette Meyran relocated her daughters to the small town of St. James on Long Island in hopes of starting over. Unfortunately, they attempted their fresh start in an incredibly haunted house where Satanic rituals had once taken place. Not long after moving in, they began hearing thumps and voices in the night.
They saw dark hooded figures on their property and found a diary full of disturbing information about the property’s past. The diary dated back to 1927 and belonged to a girl named Christina. In it, she wrote of a large, Long Island-based cult. This cult would perform animal sacrifices and sexual abuse for dark rituals on the property.
Paranormal activity continues in the house and the family was featured in an episode for Syfy’s Paranormal Witness.
The Willowbrook State School Has A History With Satanic Activity
The people of Staten Island have been handing down the legend of Cropsey for decades. A deranged escaped mental patient who now lurks in the dark tunnels under the abandoned Willowbrook State School. They say Cropsey comes out to drag children back into the tunnels with him. As it turned out, Staten Island’s boogeyman was real.
Andre Rand a former Willowbrook employee, had been haunting the woods, abducting children, and murdering them. It was strongly believed Rand didn’t act alone. One of the accusations made against Willowbrook (while still operational) was that Satanic worship was taking place in the basement. It was theorized Rand procured these children for a cult.
There have been signs of Satanic ritual activity at the ruins of Willowbrook. Also within its surrounding woods and the neighboring institution Seaview Hospital. A network of individuals involved seemed possible.
The Process Church was suspected of involvement. This organization also has alleged ties to both Charles Manson and David Berkowitz. There was very little physical evidence to link anyone else to these crimes. Although he may not have acted alone, Rand stood trial alone.
They Call Lucifer the Peacock Angel and Worship Him in Lalish, Iraq
There’s a widely held belief that the Kurdish Yazidi community in northern Iraq are devil worshipers. Because of this, ISIS began targeting them, committing mass murder and acts of sexual slavery against them. It seems lost on them that this reaction is also Satanic activity, since sexual abuse and murder align with satanic practices.
Their connection to Satanism is through Melek Taus, or the “Peacock Angel.” Apparently, Yazidis worship the Peacock Angel as a god and creator but, according to Christian and Muslim beliefs, Melek Taus is actually Satan, the fallen angel who peacocks about, while trying to corrupt mankind.
Regardless of whether or not they realize the parallels between Melek and Lucifer, the Yazidis have remained very open-minded when it comes to various elements of pagan traditions. As a result of all this, Lalish has become one of the “seven towers of satanism.”
When interviewed by Telegraph about Melek Taus, a member replied:
“We believe he is a proud angel, who rebelled and was thrown into Hell by God.
He stayed there 40,000 years until his tears quenched the fires of the underworld.
Now he is reconciled to God.”
Okay, so, Satan. Basically, you guys worship Satan.
The Satanic Panic Craze of the 1980s Began in Victoria, British Columbia
“Satanic Panic” raged through the 1980s. It was like McCarthyism, but instead of communists, it was devil worshipers they were weeding out. Rock stars, wrestlers, actors, daycare centers, public schools, cartoons, board games… everyone and everything was out to either sacrifice children or convert them to Satanism.
It all started with Michelle Smith of Victoria, British Columbia, co-writing a book with her psychiatrist. The book is titled Michelle Remembers (1980). It reveals her recovered memories of sexual abuse and satanic ritual abuse as a child. According to Michelle, most of the town, including her own mother, were all members of this cult. These alleged “recovered memories” birthed the mass hysteria now known as the Satanic Panic.
The legitimacy of “recovered memories” has been under heavy scrutiny over the years. Many even consider the practice dangerous). The satanic activity and ritual abuse claims made i this time-period were dismissed as fabrications and mass hysteria. Although that isn’t saying much. Legitimate sexual abuse and rape claims still aren’t taken seriously enough.
Many child predators get away with sexually abusing children because of the public’s refusal to believe children’s memories (often referencing the Satanic Panic as the reasoning). Even though we know one of the first things to go in traumatic events like these are chunks of memory.
Almost sounds like the whole “Satanic Panic” brouhaha was just another trick that worked out in favor of the devil, huh?
A Barbershop in Toledo, Ohio Gave Rise to Satanism in the United States
The Satanic Our Lady of Endor Coven, founded 1948 by Herbert Sloane in Toledo. In the back of his barbershop, Sloane and his followers would perform Satanic rituals until his death in the 1980s – and no, Mrs. Lovett’s meat pies did not originate here.
The coven named themselves after the Witch of Endor. They performed rituals intended to commune with Satan, or the Horned God.
Sloane’s group was among the very first Satanists to go public in the United States with their controversial beliefs. And while they predated Anton LaVey’s Church of Satan by 19 years, they chose to remain mostly under the radar. Sloane was briefly a member of the Church of Satan in the 1960s, but his organization never achieved the notoriety that LaVey’s did.
San Francisco, California is the Birthplace of Organized Satanism
San Francisco is like the Satanic mothership due to Anton LaVey’s Church of Satan. LaVey ran the Church of Satan out of his home from 1967 until 1997. He had his house painted all black inside and out and would host “dramatic” rituals and Satanic wedding ceremonies, funerals, and baptisms there. LaVey published his very own Satanic Bible in 1969, which sold close to 1 million copies worldwide. LaVey sold the house to a friend in 1991 and then died of heart disease in 1997. His daughter Karla LaVey vowed to carry on his work and remains a high priestess in the church.
Pergamon in Ancient Greece is Home to Satan’s Throne
Near the modern Turkish city of Bergama are the ancient ruins of the Greek city of Pergamon. These ruins are a site of alleged Satanic activity. Revelation 2:12 refers to the the city’s main temple, Pergamon Altar, as Satan’s throne.
The site was once a shrine to the Olympian gods of the pagan Hellenic religion. Which early Christians deemed demonic. Pergamon is also the influence behind Hitler’s Zeppelin Field in Nuremberg.
