Spooky season is upon us and what better way to bask in its chilling glory than to indulge in another Mike Flanagan reimagining of a horror classic?
First, we were gifted The Haunting of Hill House, a richly atmospheric adaptation inspired by Shirley Jackson’s 1959 novel by the same name.
This season, Netflix is giving us The Haunting of Bly Manor – based on the 1898 Henry James novella, The Turn of the Screw. Today marked the release of the first official teaser-trailer, which revealed Netflix will be dropping the entire series on October 9th.
The storyline follows “a young governess hired by a man to look after his niece and nephew at their family country house after they fall into his care. Soon after arriving at the Bly estate, she begins to experience strange occurrences and a grim history starts to unravel.”
In typical anthology-horror fashion, many of the same actors from the first season will return to take on new roles. The Haunting of Bly Manor’s cast includes:
- Victoria Pedretti as Dani Clayton
- Henry Thomas as Henry Wingrave
- Oliver Jackson-Cohen as Peter Quint
- Kate Siegel (not announced)
- T’Nia Miller as Hannah Grose
- Catherine Parker (not announced)
- Rahul Kohli as Owen
- Benjamin Evan Ainsworth as Miles Wingrave
- Amelie Smith as Flora Wingrave
- Amelia Eve as Jamie
- Tahirah Sharif as Rebecca Jessel
